May is Child Care Month Every May, the provincial government, along with child care providers around the province, acknowledge Child Care Month. Many individuals, organizations and municipalities throughout British Columbia have, since 1982, organized events in celebration of Child Care Month and Child Care Provider Appreciation Day. Our Lieutenant Governor, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, has been pleased to enact Order in Council 903 on October 11, 2002. Child Care Month is a time to recognize the importance of child care to families, and to honour the exceptional work of child care providers in communities around the province. Remember to raise public awareness about the role that quality child care plays in building a healthy and strong community.
